All the questions you have, we have also asked ourselves at one point.
Because we believe in fair pay based on merit, not on negotiation skills. We aim to encourage conversations about salaries and make this a non-taboo topic. When you buy something, you know its price and can compare prices in different stores. Why should salaries be any different?
Just as a market vendor clearly states the price of their vegetables, it shouldn’t be taboo to say how much you want for your work, nor should it be taboo for an employer to state what they can offer. The sooner this question is resolved, the quicker the company can move forward, and its employees will be happier and more productive. That's why we decided to create a salary comparison tool for the Croatian IT sector, which now has the largest salary database – over 50% of people in Croatian IT.
We are focused on one thing only – accurate salaries. No fluff around reviews or anything else.
Fill out a simple form to enter your data and salary, and you will soon receive a free insight into results tailored to the data you provided.
For example, you can see how many others in the same position and seniority level have higher or lower salaries than you. Every three months, you can update your salary and other data, allowing the Tabu platform to reflect the current market state for each position in Croatian IT.
Tabu is owned by Transparentići d.o.o., a company founded by Bornfight and Vatroslav Mileusnić.
Tomislav Grubišić, CEO of Bornfight, personally conducted successful developer salary surveys in 2018 and 2019, achieving a high number of entries.
Vatroslav Mileusnić is responsible for all questions regarding the Tabu platform.
You always have an answer to the question: “Am I being paid fairly?”
You can easily check how your salary compares to the market and your colleagues across about 20 parameters. For example, you can compare how many others in the same position and seniority level have higher or lower salaries than you, comparisons by company type and size, and by gender.
Nothing! Access for private users is completely free after you enter your data.
Companies pay for access to data that helps them determine how much they should pay their employees, but without access to data that could compromise anonymity. This way, Tabu is funded so it can continue to develop and provide better value for all of us.
Your privacy is our priority. Your data is secure and protected through the process of anonymization and aggregation before we use it in any business context.
Tabu offers business users only aggregated data — and only when there are at least 5 entries in the same set. Your personal data, such as email address, unique identifier, or any other identifiable information, is never shown or made available to business users. Even voluntary responses to questions are not visible unless at least 5 users have submitted identical answers.
Business users utilize this anonymized and aggregated data to gain market insights and conduct benchmarking of salaries and benefits. This helps them make informed decisions regarding salaries and benefits for current and future employees.
Results are available at results.tabu.hr. Anyone who has completed the Tabu questionnaire with a Google account email or another email with a created access code can access the results.
If you complete the Tabu questionnaire with an email that is not a Google account and do not create an access code (or forget it), contact us at info@tabu.hr with the access code you want.
We protect the anonymity and privacy of everyone who enters data. Your data will not be displayed or shared with third parties. Your data is used only for aggregation with other responses.
Data is stored with strict security measures, and access is limited to the minimum necessary number of people. It will not be possible to identify who entered the data from the public results.
Yes, for other private and business users of the Tabu platform.
You will always remain anonymous – no one will see your exact data. Instead, we use it for aggregation to show averages and ranges when we have enough results to preserve anonymity. This ensures that no one can identify which individual entered the data. So, don’t worry if your entry is the only one for a specific position, seniority level, and combination of other parameters – your salary won’t be shown until we collect 5 results to guarantee anonymity.
For example, if only one person enters a salary for Development > Android > Middle > C/C++, we will use that salary only to the extent that there are enough other entries to anonymize the salary.
We ask for a personal email to better ensure that each person enters their salary only once. We also use your email to notify you when it’s time to update your data or when we introduce something new to the platform for you.
Through our research, we found that too few people understand the difference between gross and net salary, so we focused on what most people know: how much you receive in your bank account each month. Since March 20, 2023, it is also possible to enter your gross salary, which you can find on your payslip or in your employment contract.
If you don’t understand gross salary, you can watch the webinar we created in collaboration with Toni Milun, where he explains gross salary and why it’s important.

There is a possibility that your contract contains a confidentiality clause about salary, but you also communicate your salary to the bank, insurance, friends, or family. We will not publicly display your data; it is used only for aggregation with other responses.
You can read a more detailed answer here.
Because our current goal is to collect as many salaries as possible, we didn’t want to complicate the form more than necessary. We can later enable more detailed entries for salary by technology combination.
If you are in the IT world outside Croatia, you can still enter your data – that case is covered. We want to share the impression of what it takes not to move abroad, and you will certainly help us with that.
If you’re not in IT but can find yourself on the list of positions, you can still enter your data and compare yourself with others in the same position – regardless of whether they are in IT or not. If you can’t find yourself on the list of positions, you can leave your email so we can contact you when we include your position..
If your email is incorrect, contact us at info@tabu.hr and we'll help you quickly.
We’ll be sorry that you want to withdraw your data, but we will do everything to enable this. Contact us at info@tabu.hr and we'll resolve the situation.
You can email us at info@tabu.hr or fill out the anonymous feedback form at https://tabu.hr/feedback.
